About Us

Absolutely Organic was started in a garage in Rathmines, Dublin back in late 1997.

The reasons behind it still hold today - to bring real, local, seasonal, organic food to Dublin people, people who know the value of good, natural food. For our customers, we are an alternative to supermarkets, who have nothing like the range or quality of organic produce that we have, and we are a more consitent supplier than farmers markets, many of which are only available for a limited time in the week and for a limited time during the year. 

Absolutely Organic operates from its fully equipped warehouse in Ballymount, Walkinstown, Dublin, just off the M50. We started business as a Box System, but have expanded our services so that now you can order individual Portions of organic Vegetables and Fruit and a full range of Grocery products to suit your needs.

The business is owned and managed by John Healy, from Rathmines in Dublin. He has set out basic values for the business that still fundamentally underpin the whole business ethos.

Trust

Organic is all about Trust. People want organic food because they have lost trust in the conventional food chain. There are very clearly defined and strictly enforced Standards for Organic farming so that people can continue to have Trust in the food they eat.

Trust is applied within the business itself. Employees are trusted to do the job they are employed to do and are trusted not to betray the values of the business or its people. Customers can Trust Absolutely Organic to meet its promises, just as we can trust our Customers to pay on time. Suppliers are trusted to supply quality produce at a reasonable price.

Since we started in 1997, Absolutely Organic has been Licensed by the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA) under the control of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (DAFF). Each year we have been subject to their Standards, Inspection and Certification. Absolutely Organic's Licence number is 3306.

Support Local Organic Farmers and Growers

Absolutely Organic is very committed to Local Organic Farmers and Growers. Our policy is to source Irish organic produce whenever possible, even if more expensive than its imported equivalent.

We work closely with the best organic farmers and growers around Leinster, mostly from within a 60 mile radius of Dublin. We have established a strong reputation as trustworthy, supportive and professional in our relationships with our suppliers. We actively support the Irish Organic Farmers and Growers Association (IOFGA) in its efforts to develop the organic sector in Ireland.

Our Box based service provides a very important alternative ‘route to market’ for our organic farmers and growers. We specifically do not farm, so that we can concentrate on the marketing and selling of Irish grown organic produce. We provide a dependable outlet so that the organic farmers and growers can concentrate on doing what they are best at – farming and growing.

Our Customers are the Centre of Our Business

We do everything we possibly can to provide the best possible products and service for our customers. The Newssheet is published every week to give helpful Information and Recipes.

We welcome all comments, opinions and ideas from our customers and this informs the developments and innovations which we continue to introduce. Where a customer has a difficulty or a complaint, we will do whatever we can to address it and to make redress as appropriate.
