Biocafe coffee beans are grown at high altitude in the mountains, so called 'Altura' coffee . As the beans take longer to mature, they develop even more flavour and aroma.
In addition to the benefits of organic farming, another distinguishing feature is the way the coffee bushes are positioned within the plantation - they do not stand row-to-row, but are interspersed with various 'shade-trees'. These regulate the moisture content of the soil to combat dehydration and to protect the coffee bushes from the full glare of the sun.
